Faculties Dr. P. Purohit, Dr. A. P. Chakraverty and the research scholars Bomkesh Bhoi, Omm Krishna Swarupa, Dibyajyoti Diptimayee Pradhan have presented their research finding of their project funded by OSHEC in the scheme OURIIP in the conclave. Dr. A. P. Chakraverty owned the best research poster in the OURIIP Project in the category of Physical Sciences.
Prof. S. K. Das and his research scholars Omm Krishna Swarupa, Swagatika Sahu participated in the DAE-BRNS theme meeting on 7th- 8th June 2024, held in Bhaba Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai. Both the research scholars have owned the best poster award out of 200 such partcipants.

During Covid-19 pandemic, faculties of School of Physics, in supervision with Prof. S. K. Das, designed a sanitizing tunnel by using some low cost devices. Also, the team of School of Physics have designed a low cost UV-chamber for sanitization of files/documents. Prof Atanu Kumar Pati, as Vice-Chancellor of that period, had inaugurated the sanitizing tunnel and the UV-sanitizing chamber.
Scientists of IOP, Bhubaneswar have visited G. M. University campus to showcase the research activity, as conducted in IOP, Bhubaneswar. The purpose of the visit is to create interest on research in Science and for their upliftment in Higher education.
Faculties of School of Physics have visited Guru Nanak English Medium School to demonstrate some experiments on Science. Research/Project Scholars of Prof. S. K. Das, Dr. Dr. A. P. Chakraverty, have explained some basic theories of Physics related to Modern Optics, LASERS, Electricity and Magnetism, Materials Sciences etc. Students have demonstrated some experiments. Posters on some recent emerging research, as conducted on School of Physics, G. M. University were also displayed for their interest on Scientific Education in future. Research Scholars Omm Krishna Swarupa, Swagatika Sahu, Technical Assistant Mr Dakeswar Pradhan have helped Prof. S. K. Das for the purpose.

Hansdah, Dr. Pranati Purohit have explained some basic theories of Physics related to Solid State, Modern Physics, Optics, Electricity and Magnetism, Materials Sciences etc. Students have demonstrated some experiments. Posters on some recent emerging research, as conducted on School of Physics, G. M. University were also displayed for their interest on Scientific Education in future.
83 numbers of eminent Alumni have attended the meeting. Prof. N. Nagararaju, the Vice-Chancellor of the University ingurated the meeting. Prof. S. K. Das, Head, School of Physics chaired the meeting. Alumni have shared their experiences in the outside world that they encountered after leaving, the Institution. Prof. Sankar Prasad Pati, an alumni and syndicate member of the University shared his experiences and vision for the department. Alumnii of different batches have given their interests to help the School in all possible ways.

(iii) Advanced Learners will attend NET/GATE/JEST/JAM preparatory classes. (iv) All students are instructed to register for Swayam courses, specifically for GE course of their CBCS syllabus. (v) Students must participate in industrial/research internship programme from industries/reputed research institutes. Action to be taken- Class attendance/Mid term marks and advertisements for National level competitive examinations will be notified to Parents.
