Dr.Bibhu K . Mohanty completed his Masters degree, M.Phil. and PhD in Anthropology from University of Madras . He joined Anthropological Survey of India as a Junior Research Fellow at Mysore and subsequently served in the post of Research Associate at (Jagdalpur), Assistant Keeper (at Jagdalpur ) Assistant  Psychologist (at Udaipur Nagpur and Kolkata).  He was on deputation in the post of Assistant Director with Directorate of Census Operation ,Odisha .  He has served as Anthpologist and Head of Office of Western Regional Centre Anthropological Survey of India at Udaipur . He has worked in close association with Late  Dr. Kumar Suresh Singh General editor People of India project,Late Professor Vinay Kumar Shrivtastav formerly Director Anthropological Survey of India and with many other eminent persons like Professor K.K. Mishra, Professor K.K . Basha, Professor A.B.Ota etc. Dr. Mohanty edited the Madhya Pradesh state volume of people of India series having worked in Tamilnadu Chhattisgarh, Orissa Rajasthan in various National and other Dr. Mohanty pursing research on development and ecological issues Crafts and Craftmanship and demographic issues etc. Presently he is serving as Associate Professor and Head School of Anthropology Gangadhar Meher University Sambalpur.
