STREET PLAY AT PIPALMUNDA VILLAGE OF KANTABANJI TAHASIL, BALANGIR

During the field work of PG and UG final year students, it was decided by the students to have a street play entitled “Beti Gher ki Shaan” on the 5th April 2024. The event was completely managed by the students which involved script writing choreography, and approaching the villagers to attain the program in the evening. The response was very positive and the villagers rendered necessary help in providing lighting and audio facilities. The one and half hour programme involved short plays to sensitize the people on the issue of contract labour. They were further advised to report with local administration about their movement toother state. In another street play students advised to through the play regarding the advantage of a girl child and provide love and affection as like their male counterpart. The programme ended to with a lot of enthusiasm in which young and old villagers joined with our student to have a dance session reflecting their acceptance of our students in their community.

Extension programme on Health Issue

A team of UG, PG, PhD Research Scholar along with their faculty members to the village Sunapali. An extension programme on “Intake of safe drinking water for protection of kidney” was organized on 24th Feb, 2024. The basic objective of the programme was to boost the morale of the villagers to fight their hostile environment in a more meaningful way so as to improve their quality of life. Kidney affected patients were interviewed by the students and the genealogical chart was mapped so as to identify kidney victim if any in the previous generation. Villagers were also informed to avoid the services of the quack. The way of approaching the Govt. machinery was given due importance by the team members. They were further advised to organize one more meeting so that more action-oriented activities for improving the quality of life could be achieved.

EXTENSION PROGRAMME AT S.S.V.M., SIDDHESWAR BERNA, TANGARPALI, SAMBALPUR

An extension programme on "Nurturing Minds: Unlocking the Secrets of Nutritional Benefits" was held on 16th December, 2024 at S.S.V.M., Siddeswar Berna, Tangarpali, Sambalpur. The Students and Faculties members of School of Anthropology, GMU motivated the School children to take required Nutritional Intake. And thus preferred to take all kinds of locally available fruits and vegetables. To assess the Notional Status of the Children anthropometric measurement were also taken.

STREET PLAY AT DEBICHUAN VILLAGE, BAMPARDA BLOCK OF DEOGARH, ODISHA.

A street play was organized by final year students 2022-23. The main objective of this programme was to make people aware about malaria . The title of the street play was “Ghara Bhitare Ghara”. During their field study amongst The Paudi Bhuyan Community (a PVTG Community) at Debichuan village, Bamparda Block of Deogarh, Odisha.

STREET PLAY AT BHUTAPADA SLUM OF SAMBALPUR, ODISHA

A street play was organized by the final year PG students during (2022-23). The title of the street play was " Luk Lukani". The main objective of organizing the street was in Sambalpur slum area was to make them aware about avoiding taking loans from money lenders at a high rate of interest. Most of the inhabitants of the slum belongs to Gond Community. The slum dwellers were happy to see the programme and expressed their gratitude for sensitizing them.
