About

Dr. Monalisa Mohapatra, currently working as a Professor at the School of Chemistry at Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur, since 2023. She received her B.Sc. from Ravenshaw College (2004), M.Sc. from Utkal University, Odisha, and her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras in the year 2011 under the supervision of Prof. A. K. Mishra. After a 3-year post-doctoral tenure (2011 to 2014) at IIT Madras, she joined Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla, Odisha as an Assistant Professor for a period from 2014 to 2020. She has worked as an Associate Professor at the School of Chemistry, Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur from 2020 to 2023. Dr. Mohapatra is the recipient of the best Ph.D. thesis award ‘Prof Langmuir Award’ in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry from IIT Madras in 2012. She has also received the ‘Prof R. K. Nanda Award’ from the Odisha Chemical Society in 2008, and the Performance of Excellence/Best Poster award from the Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC), Government of Odisha, in ORC Conclave-2022 and 2023. She has qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), in Chemistry. She has completed many major and minor research projects. She has published many articles in National and International repute journals. Her research interests include photophysical chemistry and fluorescence spectroscopy, fluorescence probes for micro-and nano-scale organized media, and soft matter systems.
