About

 Dr. Muralidhar Majhi (b.1973) obtained his post graduation degree in Economics (1996), PhD degree (2007) from Sambalpur University and Post Graduate Diploma in Distance education (PGDDE) from IGNOU in 2011. He has been teaching Economics in a number of Government Colleges in Odisha since 25 years. He has a large number of research papers published in Scopus Indexed, UGC-CARE, ABDC quality listed

journals, single authored and edited books, research papers in edited volumes with articles published both in Odia and English news papers. He has participated and contributed papers in a number of national and international seminars and workshops. The author has supervised two research scholars for PhD degree under Sambalpur University and one research scholar from Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur. In

addition currently supervising four research scholars for PhD degree under G.M. University, Sambalpur, Odisha. He has completed two Minor Research projects funded by the UGC, New Delhi and Odisha State Open University, Sambalpur with One consultancy project under Planning and Coordination Department, Government of Odisha, Bhubaneswar. Besides supervising eight Mphil dissertations, the author has participated in TV and Radio programmes on matters relating to finances of local bodies, annual budget, micro planning, comprehensive district agricultural plan, tribal society, culture and development. Dr. Majhi is currently working as Assistant Professor (Stage-III) at School of Economics, Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur, Odisha and Life member of Indian Economics Association and Odisha Economics Association and Indian Society for Labour Economics. His area of specialization includes state finance, regional planning, tribal development, development economics and applied econometrics.
