Professor Patit Paban Mishra graduated from GM College in 1970 and was educated in Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Rabindra Bharati University. Professor Mishra’s main area of research lies in history and culture of India, Southeast Asia and International Relations. After retirement from Sambalpur University, Orissa, India; as a Professor in 2011, he took up assignment as visiting Professor at Northern University of Malaysia (UUM), which was over in September 2014. He was a senior academic fellow of the Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi. Presently he is working as senior academic consultant in Odisha Open University, India.
Born on 22nd march 1955 at Sambalpur city of Orissa state as the eldest child to parents Umashankar and Lokjanani, both celebrated literary figure of their times. He took up his school and college education at Sambalpur, topped the graduate examination with History Honours (GM College), conducted by the Sambalpur University and joined the Universit of Delhi to persue his post-graduation and Master of Philosophy in Histoy and Buddhist studies respecively with specialisation in Ancient History, Culture, Religion and civilisation of South Asia. After completing his studies he joined the government of Orissa as an assistant Land Settlement Officer in 1982 and served the government in various capacities till his retirement in 2014 as the Director, Technical and Additional Secretay to Government in Information and Public Relation Department. His tremendous drive for ressearch took him to the University of Virginia, USA. On strong recommendation of the internationally reputed Art Historian Professor Pramod Chandra of Harvard University in January 1996 and after two years of doctoral research on Art History of early temples and Sculpture of India he return to his government job in January 1998.
Born on 18th April 1955 at Ghosar village in the Kishore Nagar Block of Anugul district he graduated in History Honours from department in 1976 and pursued his Master degree in 1978 in the University of Delhi and M.Phil. in Jawaharlal Nehru University in 1979. He joined IAS in 1980 and got the Gujarat Cadre. He retired from his service in 2015 as the Secretary in the Ministry of Home, Government of India. Then he was nominated as the Member Secretary, National Commission for Denotified Tribes from 2015 to 2016 ; State Vigilance Commioner,Gujarat from 2016 to 2019; Member of Project Committee, International solar Alliance from 2019 to 2021 and at present the Chairman of the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority, Gujarat State. He resides in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat.
Dr Biswajit Pradhan graduated from GM College in 1979 and was educated in Sambalpur University. Dr Pradhan’s main area of research lies Ancient Indian History and Culture and Museology.
