About
Dr. Anupama Swain is currently working as an Assistant Professor (guest faculty) in the School of Physics, Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur. She has more than ten years of research experience in various domains of condensed matter physics. Dr. Swain completed her B.Sc. (Physics Hons.) in 2012 from Ravenshaw University, Cuttack and M.Sc. (Physics) in 2014 from University of Hyderabad. She has completed her full-time Ph.D. (in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics) in 2019 from School of Physics, University of Hyderabad and her thesis title was “Charge Order Suppression and Magnetization Switching in Manganites”. Later, she joined as a postdoctoral fellow at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, Odisha in August 2021. During her Ph. D. she visited Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan under a collaborative research project for two months (May-July, 2016). Till date, she has published many research articles in peer reviewed journals of international repute and had attended many national and international conferences. Dr. Swain’s research interest includes Strain mediated magnetoelectric coupling in heterostructures, Multiferroic memory devices, Magnetoelectric (ME) coupling, spin pumping for spintronics application, magnon-magnon coupling in ferrimagnet garnets. She is also well equipped in handling various high-end sophisticated equipment such as X-ray Diffractometer (XRD), Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) system, RF/DC Sputtering thin film unit, Raman Spectroscopy, Physical Property Measurement System (PPMS), Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Ferromagnetic Resonance (FMR) set-up.
