Topic : The Role of Technology in Human Life
Talk Delivered by Prof. B.N. Panda, Professor of Education, NCERT
The Parent Teacher Meeting was organized on Dt.09.11.2023 by the School of Political Science from 3.00 pm onwards. In this Meeting Head of the Department Prof. Gyanaranjan Swain, Dr. Keshab Chandra Rath, Dr. Banita Mahanandia, Ms. Singh Subhalaxmi Baidhar, and Mr. Deepak Kumar Behera, Ms. Laxmipriya Behera were present. Prof. Gyanaranjan Swain welcomed all the present guardians and invited them all to provide their valuable views regarding their sons/daughters. In overall they opined that: 1. A WhatsApp group should be created combining only Parents and Teachers 2. Remedial Class should be held as students had not read 30% of the syllabus which was withdrawn during COVID-19. 3. More and more PTMs should be held. 4. Students should know the specificity of the topic which is taught in the classroom. 5. Hostel facilities should be provided for long-distance students. 6. Class Timing should be changed as the last class is ended at 6.00 pm which is creating many problems for the Day-scholar. 7. Depth knowledge should be provided to the students. The Head of the Department, Prof. Gyanaranjan thanked all the guardians for giving such valuable suggestions. He also provided some suggestions like Parents should encourage their sons/daughters to write in English, prepare notes, positively use of mobiles, and not pressurize students for marks. Dr. Keshab Chandra Ratha also suggested that building the character of students is not only vested in the hands of the Teacher but also in the hands of Guardians. Dr. Banita Mahanandia also suggested that parents should act as friends to their children. Then Ms. Singh Subhalaxmi Baidhar opined that - steps will be taken to solve the problems that were discussed at the best level with the best efforts. Ms. Laxmipriya also opined that more and more the best teaching methods will be adopted for the development of the students. Then Prof. Gyanaranjan Swain also assured the Parents that “We will do the needful”. Then he provided a vote of thanks the meeting was over.
A mental health sensitization program was being held on 23/09/2022 and a poster making competition was also held on the eve of mental health week.
